Human Performance Evaluation (HPE)
The HPE assesses the applicants’ abilities to meet the physical requirements for the Operator Technician position. The
HPE is performed on the same day as of the drug screen and takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.
Below is a list of exercises that will be performed during the HPE:
- Carry a box weighing 100 lbs for a distance of 10 feet within five minutes
- Place a box weighing 50 lbs on a shelf 5 feet from the ground
- Carry a box weighing 75 lbs for a distance of 600 feet within five minutes
- Push and pull 100 lbs 10 times in within five minutes
- Step up and down on a box 20 inches high from the ground 10 times within five minutes
- Climb 8 rungs on a ladder within five minutes
- Crawl into and back out of a confined space of 36” by 108”
- Bend and touch 1 inch from your toes 30 times within five minutes
- Balance on each leg for 30 seconds
- Walk a half a mile at 3 miles per hour on a treadmill
